Expanded Kitchens

This is a popular request amongst many homeowners in the Rancho Los Feliz area. The expanded kitchen allows for much more room, and it also allows for much more creativity. Take this recent project we just completed as an example.

This Los Feliz home design above allowed for a moderately sized kitchen, but the homeowner wanted more. In fact, the homeowner wanted the backyard visible from the kitchen. We decided to leave the original oak hardwood flooring and went to work. We extended the countertop and the room as the homeowner requested, which consisted of a granite countertop installation and some cabinet installs. We ended up keeping the homeowners original cabinets and we just added onto them, painting everything white to match.

When we were finished, we ended up with a much larger kitchen that overlooks the backyard just as the homeowner wanted.

Modernized Room Additions, Renovations or New Constructions

That same Los Feliz homeowner had a guest house that had been constructed about six months earlier. The homeowner said he liked the guesthouse, but he didn’t think it felt modern enough. So he requested a Los Feliz remodel. The bottom line is that the homeowner wanted to have parties in the guest house and he didn’t think it was adequate as it was. So, again, we went to work.

We installed a built-in TV so that it could be viewed from the outside bar area, and we installed the same granite countertops and white cabinets like we did in the home’s main kitchen. We also installed 18″ stone tiles in the kitchen, which also ran into the bedroom. The home is now modern enough for any get-together and the homeowner left us with a very positive review.

Complete Kitchen Remodel

For this example, I’d like to refer to the kitchen of a complete condominium remodel we recently finalized. While not technically a Los Feliz remodel, this condo kitchen project will provide you with an idea of what we can do when left to our creativity. Before we started our remodel of this particular condominium, the kitchen was completely closed in. We opened the kitchen, installed tinted glass as a backsplash and installed exotic granite countertops. Next, we installed ultra-modern cherry and mahogany cabinets. We finished with tile flooring throughout the condo.

When we were finished, we had a futuristic looking kitchen that was perfect for entertaining or for cooking gourmet meals.
